Has there ever been anything you wanted to remind yourself of? Such as important insights, beneficial thoughts, things you wanted to do more consciously, or maybe bash syntax? - This is exactly what Internalize is meant for: Simply gather your sentences, and Internalize will remind you of them.
Internalize - Think Positive :-)
Internalize is a small tool for linux, based on Qt3, designed to internalize sentences or short texts easily and almost accidentally.
The way it works is: Your own sentences are taken from a list, and every now and then (in time intervals you can choose yourself) one appears in a little window on the desktop. It could be positive sentences, which just make you feel good, but of course also all sorts of other things such as affirmations, proverbs, funny sentences, syntax of all sorts, vocabulary ... just everything you'd like to memorize.
A short example list is included in the program. It only serves as a model to help you produce your own lists.
The idea to write Internalize came up in a time when 'mental sunbeams' were rather scarce, and when it proved helpful to now and then get reminded of something beautiful. The pleasant side effect: Being repeated frequently, some of the sentences became an everyday and positive mindset.
Internalize has been created with great pleasure in what we were doing. Our aim was to make a small, beautiful, useful and user-friendly program. We think, up to now we did quite well. Of course we're not "ready". Further ideas are in our waiting loop already.

Features:
- Choose between different lists (up to now only UTF-8 encoded).
Fortune files can be used as well. - Selectable display mode: Choose whether sentences are read from the list in linear or random order.
- Selectable position of the text window: always the same position, screen centre, random position.
- Selectable time interval between displaying the sentences.
- Selectable colours and font.
- Choice between using either the tray icon or the NoTray symbol. The latter is an alternative, e.g. if the window manager does not support tray icons.
- Show text window and NoTray symbol with or without window decoration.
- Optionally show the text window always on top.
- Pause text display temporarily without exiting Internalize.
- Language support: English, German (also documentation).
- Display texts formatted (so far only plain HTML in the list file).
- Many options can be chosen by command line parameters.

Planned Features:
- Support of lists in different encodings.
- Connect text display with sound event.
- Creating and using several personal display sets consisting of colour and font settings.
- Document which HTML formattings are supported.
- Perhaps: Edit and format the texts directly in the program.

Dependencies:
- qt3-headers (for compilation)
- qt3-libraries (for the program to work)
Provided that the qt3-headers are installed, performing the installation with "configure", "make", "make install" should work smoothly.
